Products/ScourMat Case History
ScourMats were utilized on a remote island to provide protection for a new pipeline on the Atlantic side of the island. Ease of transportation and suitability for the work were the key benefits of Seabed Technologies product for this project. SBT’s “ScourMats” were pre-placed in the proposed ROW for protection against hard bottom abrasion and covering mats for post-lay were provided for protection from heavy rock and concrete erosion structures. Where practical, portions of the mats were pumped in place prior to the laying operation. Continuous sections of mat were then pumped next to the water and allowed to cure for one day. These long sections of ScourMat were then cut into custom lengths and floated to the ROW to be lowered in specified areas.
